ABOUT ME

Marcos is a musician from Brazil who is now living in New York, USA, to pursuit his Doctoral degree in Jazz/Commercial Music Electric Guitar at Five Towns College. He has a master's degree in music from UFPB (Federal University od Paraíba-Brazil) where he also went for his undergraduate course in acoustic guitar. In Brazil, he was a professor at IFPB (Federal Institute of Paraíba). Also, he taught music and guitar lessons at Colégio Marista Pio X and Studio Escola. Since 2008 he has published many papers on international journals and conferences, usually focusing on the way people learn and teach electric guitar. As a performance musician, he played and recorded with: Unidade Móvel; Os Nonatos; Glaucia Lima, Orquestra de Violões da Paraíba; Eleonora Falcone, Trio Jazzera. He is also the first winner of the Philippe Bertaud Memorial Scholarship. By now he is working on his own original songs, Broadway’s musical The Wedding Singer, FTC Jazz Orchestra and with other small ensembles.
